Version 4.3
Until now field information was collected using a classic forms filled with pencil.
This is impractical due to the inconvenience to write with the globes on , the
propoleous damages the pencils and the classic hole in the paper due to the
high presuure applied on the pencil to make it works. After that is a mess to
find time to pass all data to the computer.
Our data collection module fixes all this problems using Psion Teklogix® Industrial
data collection handhelds. Fast, reliable and extremelly easy.
First of all you should identify beehives with an OPP Barcode Label (we suppourt
any EPL printer, ZEBRA®, etc) or thru an RFID tag, giving each beehive an unique
identification .
After that you´re ready to go to the field with your Workabout Pro® from
PSION TEKLOGIX® in its protective case . With your gloves on
you´re in conditions to load in , throught a pre loaded menu , all information
about your beehives and performed tasks .
Just reading the RFID or the bar code label installed in the beehive you´ll
get in a brigh color screen all info about last four visits made to this beehive.
No more strange marks with stones, sticks or hand writtenn in the beehive to
know what´s happened inside the beehive and did you do in the last visits
.
With these information the beekeper can decide if he has to open or not the
beehive. Also gives him all info about what he could be finding
inside, according his last visits. Its possible
to register data for each beehive or to a complete apiary.
This are some of the options that can be recorded:
Queens : Detailed information about: Race, color (year)
and description, size, birth, replacements, etc.
Postures : Continuous or not, Status.
Honey Supers : Detailed information about its status,
mature honey, wax, pollen, etc .
Brood Supers: Detailed information about status, brood, pollen,
honey, etc .
Aggressiveness: Level of aggressiveness.
Population : Level of population
Food: Level of food
Bee forage : You can register which´s the perdominant
bee forage in the area .
Sanitation : You register detected illness , applied medicines,
lot number and expiration date . Also you can register a Varroa count.
Harvest : You can load how many supers or frames harvested .
Alarms
An alarm system is available to help the beekeeper , which inform some
critical status and also help unexperienced beekeepers.
 Queen
repacement: Warns when the queen has finished its productive cycle.
Blocked beehive: Warns when the beekeeper tries to harvest
from a quarantied beehive.
Expired drugs: Warns when a drug has expired
Audit
The audit option allows to check the status of any beehive / apiary,
crontrol quantities, etc..
- With a simple click you can register the movement of a beehive from an apiary
to another.
- With the treatment option you can register the applied drugs to any apiary
/ beehive.
- The amount of data to be load is decided by the beekeeper. Some data can
be skipped if its not important for the beekeeper.
- When arriving the extraction room, a simple click transfers all the data
needed to the central server. No need for wires, everything works with WiFi
technology.
- The handheld comes with a rechargable battery of 2,350 mAmp, but also accepts
AA bateries .
