BAD NEWS ABOUT THE 20 SAMPLES TESTED BY THE IRELAND FOOD SAFETY AUTHORITIES
The survey identified that honey is being labelled as being Irish when it is not. This does not comply with the requirements of European CommunitiesRegulations, EC 367/2003 and EC 483/2002 .The survey also indicated that traceability information is not being adequately recorded in the identified suppliers of honey according Regulation EC 178/2002 .

DOUGHT IS REDUCING HONEY PRODUCTION IN TEXAS USA
Richard Counts beekeeper said “By April 15, there was no rain and it didn’t look like it was going to rain” , “It’s a bad year” . Jimmie Oakley, an official with the Texas Beekeepers Association and the Williamson County Area Beekeepers Association, said the drought is one major issue that beekeepers in Texas are dealing with.

A total of 15 apicultural producers, next to technicians of the Ministry of Production, the past weekend participated of the First Argentine Congress of Beekeeping of Cordoba. The delegation was composed by the technician of the Direction of Provincial Agriculture, Roberto Esposito, who accompanied apicultural producers from Adolph Alsina, General Conesa, Colorado River, Average Valley, High Valley and Andean zone.

The Matteo family's belief in their product has proven well founded with its Tamar Valley Greek- style yoghurt with honey winning the top prize at last week's Dairy Industry Association of Australia awards. The dairy's honey yoghurt scooped the 96-section competition, beating 900 dairy products to the top prize of most outstanding exhibit.
