How would be a world without bees? Good, the days of field would be easier - without preoccupations by the stings; but it would be much more difficult to fill the basket of food. The plants that produce many of our fruits and vegetables depend on the bees for the pollinizatión.

AFGHANISTAN BEEKEEPERS ARE RETURNING FROM PAKISTAN TO SET UP BUSINESS IN THEIR CUNTRY
A delegation of Bee Keeper Association have arrived in Kabul held discussions with top officials of the government. Head of the association Haji Mohammad Naeem Babakarkhel told news agency in Kabul they had started negotiations with the relevant departments regarding setting up bee-farms here.

IN ILLINOIS USA TEEN CRASHES INTO TREE FULL OF BEES
Jacqueline Cossairt's SUV slammed into the tree after she lost control on a gravel road about 10 miles south of Fort Wayne. 'Those bees were mad,' said Volunteer Fire Chief Kent Gilbert, who was stung at least 50 times while trying to pull the 16-year-old driver from the wreckage. 'I've never seen bees, especially honeybees, attack like that.'

NEW ZEALAND BEEKEEPERS PREPARE FOR ARRIVAL OF VARROA
Ashburton beekeeper Geoff Bongard said this summer’s honey harvest would be unaffected but beekeepers were preparing for hard times in the years to come.
Beekeepers will downsize the number of their hives because of the costs and manpower involved in treating and controlling the mite. Most beekeepers had about 800 hives per worker in their business, but they would drop to around 500 once varroa was established. Chemical treatment will be around NZ$ 75 (US$ 46) per hive in the first year as mite numbers build in hives. Annual costs thereafter should drop to NZ$ 50 (US$ 31)

IN NORTH CAROLINA FREE HIVES PROGRAM DIDN´T GET FUNDS THIS YEAR
Supported by money from the Golden LEAF Foundation, 250 new beekeepers received free hives in North Carolina last year. That has helped boost membership in the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association by more than 60 percent. There are now over 2-thousand beekeepers in the organization .The free hive program didn't get funding this year. Still, the number of North Carolina beekeepers continues to grow.
