DEVELOPED AN ALGORITHM ABOUT THE BEES DANCING BEHAVIOR
Cardiff University's Manufacturing Engineering Centre (MEC) , in UK developed the algorithm, after observing the 'waggle dance' of bees foraging for nectar. When a bee finds a source of nectar, it returns to the hive and performs a dance to show other bees the direction and distance of the flower patch and how plentiful it is. The new Bees Algorithm mimics this behaviour.

IN NEW ZEALAND BEEKEEPERS AREN´T HELPHING WITH THE VAROA CONTROL PLAN
The attempt to control the spread of varroa in the top of the South Island may be jeopardised by a small number of beekeepers who are refusing to identify themselves. Beekeepers seeking to control the spread of varroa in the South Island have asked Biosecurity New Zealand, which holds information about beekeepers, to approach the renegade beekeepers in a bid to get their cooperation and forward their details to the South Island Varroa Control Group.

HONEY IMPORTS INCREASES IN 2005 IN GERMANY

IN NEW ZEALAND STARTS WITH THE VARROA ELIMINATION PLAN MOVING HIVES TO INFECTED AREAS
Nelson beekeepers are preparing to send 600 hives to the North Island in the first stage of a $1.25 million varroa eradication plan that will start next week. The key part of the varroa elimination was the destruction or relocation of managed hives in the infested areas to the North Island.

A C-130 Hercules from Langley Air Force Base will fly and spray Dibrom concentrate between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on August 29, 30, and 31 over the Langley, Bethel Manor housing, city of Hampton and Fort Eustis in Newport News. Beekeepers are asked to cover or keep their bees inside.
