BRAZIL- LAW PROYECT GIVES PROTECTION TO CERTAIN BEES SPECIES
The bill to the Deputy Joao Given (PDT-SP), is pending before the National Congress, provides special protection to certain species of pollinating bees. In its justification of the draft mentions that the bees are threatened by agriculture, the intensive use of pesticides, it is clearing and burning. The biologist Christinny Giselly Bacelar Lima is in favour of the bill. She assured that the damage to biodiversity with the reduction of the population of bees would be significant.

PORTUGAL - GOVERMENT PROMOTES THE 1ST APICULTURAL FAIR OF AÇORES IN FAIAL

MEXICO- PRODUCES IN THE CAPITAL ALMOST 120 TONS OF HONEY
In the capital of the country there are 270 beekeepers located in seven delegations that have soil conservation. There are located 4 thousand 713 hives, with a production of 118 tonnes per annum with a value of 4 million 713 thousand pesos (US$ 440,138).

SPAIN- APICULTURAL SURVEY IN MALLORCA
The Ministry of Environment, of the Board has drawn up a map which reflects forest land of the autonomous region that are more suitable for the location of beekeeping settlements with the aim to improve the management of these resources in the public mountains. So the province of Almeria, with 163 beekeeping settlements awarded at the present time, has the capacity to house a total of 449 apiaries, the 25 settlements of Cadiz to 243, 110 to 202 apiaries of Cordoba, 125 of Grenada for 547, 223 Huelva to 421, 138 to 748 of Jaen, Malaga 82 to 332 and 203 to 116 settlements in Seville apiaries.

ARGENTINA- APICULTURAL TRAINING IN DELTA ISLANDS
Last week the trainings were conducted in Apiaries located in the island zone. The event was organized by the Ministry of Production in the municipality of Reconquista under the Apicultural Programme. The objective of this activity was to make an assessment on the development of hives, performance, and the health status of the same as well as listen to the needs of beekeepers who work on the island. In the days ahead will continue to schedule training spot visits to different apiaries in the rural area Reconquista, directed by Erich Faltus.

BRAZIL- DEPUTIES REQUEST TO THE GOVERMENT TO BAN THE EXPORTS TO THE EUROPEAN UNION
A group of Brazilians deputies asked today to the national government banning exports of beef to Europe until they are renegotiated new traceability rules with the authorities of the EU bloc. The application was submitted to the Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Ambassador Samuel Pinheiro Guimaraes, as reported by the Agency Brazil.

MEXICO- REGIONAL HONEY MEETING
Yesterday was inaugurated on Encounter on peninsula State Honeys Diversity, in the auditorium of the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Fisheries. The opening of the meeting was headed by Alejandro Menendez Bojórquez, secretary of Agricultural Development and Fisheries, who said he will seek options to grow, advance and strengthen honey on the peninsula.

UNITED KINGDOM- CONTAMINANTS IN A ROYAL JELLY SUPPLEMENTS
In a survey published today on behalf of the Veterinary Residues Committee (VRC), the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) reports that traces of chloramphenicol, a veterinary medicine banned for use in food producing animals, were found in 18 samples of high concentration royal jelly nutritional supplements in concentrations ranged between 0.33?g/kg and 21?g/kg.
