The South Beekeepers Cooperative (Cooapis) located in Rio Grande started a course for beekeeping on raising queen bees. The aim is to encourage the rearing of queens, to obtain higher quality honey and generating a greater profit for the beekeepers. According to Emater-Zootecnic of Rio Grande Reis Edson do Nascimento, participates in the course producers of the Municipality of San Jose North. The training course in theory develops in the morning,in the the Rural Union, and practices are being conducted by the agricultural technician specializing in beekeeping Ronaldo Clasin Maciel, from Pedro Osório.
