LEBANON- BEEKEEPERS LOST ONE QUARTER OF THEIR BEES POPULATION

CANADA- BEEKEEPERS CO-OPERATIVE IN NIAGARA
Local farmers are developing a co-operative with a website. Farmer members will be able to list produce they have to offer on the website and consumers members will be able to order online. Tentatively called the Niagara Local Food Co-operative, membership is open to producers and consumers within 100 kilometres of St. Catharines. Farmer members will be able to log in whatever produce they have to offer as it becomes available, and consumers members can order online and pick up their orders at a nearby depot.

USA- THE UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT GOT BEES TO... IMPROVE THEIR MENU
The University of Connecticut's dining halls have a new source of honey for its menu. Two dining service employees gently shook the bees that were shipped from Georgia into 10 new hives. By next year, UConn hopes to produce as much as 2,000 (840 kilograms) pounds of honey from the hives, more than half the 3,800 pounds (1,596 kilograms) the university's kitchens use each year in marinades, sauces and baked goods.
