BRAZIL- MEETING OF THE PROHONEY NATIONAL COMMITTEE AND APIS HOUSE
In Brasilia the Management Committee of the National Council of Pro Honey and Apis House met at the headquarters of the Bank of Brazil Foundation to discuss, among other topics, aspects of the marketing of honey in bulk, products and strategies for mobilizing the based partnerships. The Committee is composed of institutions working in collaboration with the Chamber Apis in promoting the productive chain of honey. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Brazilian Service of Support for Micro and Small Enterprises - Sebrae, the Regional Development Sustainable Management of the Bank of Brazil, the Central Union of Cooperatives and Companies Solidarity - UNISOL, Interuniversity the Foundation for Studies and Research on Labour - Unitrabalho, the Central Cooperative Apiculture the Semi-Arid - House and the U. USA- TEXAS BEEKEEPER WORRIED ABOUT BEES HEALTH
Mark Brady a lifelong resident of Waxahachie, With 8,000 beehives, is one of Texas' top commercial beekeepers and president of the American Honey Producers Association. 'A few years ago, beekeepers all over the U.S. started losing more bees than they would normally lose. Every year, a 10-15 percent loss ? that's pretty normal,' he said. 'Some of these guys all of a sudden started losing 40 percent or 50 percent ? some even higher than that. As it got more widespread all over the U.S., we realized we had some new problem we hadn't had in the past,' Brady said.

CANADA- STOLEN BEES
High River beekeeper Terry Greidanus says employees on a regular check noticed the bees were missing about two months ago. Greidanus suspects a short supply and high demand for bees prompted the theft. All that was left were the pallets. He says someone removed them by hand and expects another beekeeper or hobby person decided they needed the bees more than he did and helped themselves.

AUSTRALIA- GRAVE CONCERN BY THE EMERAL FURROW BEE
The emerald furrow bee, about 8mm in length and native to Portugal, was first found by Australian Museum ecologist John Gollan in the Hunter region in 2004. Dr Gollan said the consequences of its numbers ballooning were huge. The bee, which prefers the flowers of introduced plants and weeds, could disrupt parts of our fragile ecosystem.

USA- BEES IN ANCIENT EGYPT
A program presented by the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology. The program will be held at 6:30 p.m. July 14 and will feature guide 'Bebi the Bee,' who will take children and adults on a trip through ancient Egypt's wonderful world of interesting insects. Bebi's program will include information on Egyptian insects such as bees, beetles, locusts and flies. The interactive program is fun and lively and suitable for both children and parents.
