BRAZIL- COURSE TEACHS HOW TO PRODUCE COSMETIC PRODUCTS WITH MILK AND HONEY
On days 02 and 03 August, the Office of Support for Micro and Small Enterprises, Sebrae in Piaui, through the Draft Coastal Beekeeping Piauiense, promotes a course for the production of cosmetics based on goat milk and honey. The training will benefit about twenty women, relatives of beekeepers in communities Malhada stones, Aroeira, waterfall, Isle of IOC and the Bela Vista Nunes, the city of San Juan de la Frontera, distant 226 kilometers north of Teresina.

ITALY- PESTICIDES BLAMED FOR BEE MASSACRE
The Union of Italian Beekeepers (UNAAPI) and leading agricultural association Coldiretti both sounded the alarm over a mass die-off among Italian bees over the last year that would cost farmers 2.5 billion euros. Referring to a ''silent epidemic'', UNAAPI said between 40% and 50% of Italy's honeybees had vanished since the start of last year. ''A group of comparatively new pesticides called neonicotinoids are killing the bees,'' said UNAAPI President Francesco Panella. ''These substances were irresponsibly authorized by public powers that bowed to pressure from the chemical industry''.

ARGENTINA- PROPOLIS PRODUCTION, TRAINING DAY IN CORRIENTES PROVINCE
An important day technical theoretical and practical technology transfer production propolis took place last Friday in the Hall of Multiple Use of this municipality of Santa Rosa. MEETING OF THE APICULTURAL STRATEGIC PLAN IN ENTRE RIOS PROVINCE

SPAIN- WILL INVEST A HALF A MILLON EUROS IN MARCHAMALO
The research work being conducted at the Centre of Agricultural Marchamalo 'have international recognition.' This was stated this morning the minister of Agriculture, Mercedes Gomez, during a visit he made to that center and in which he announced new investments to improve its functioning. The Ministry of Agriculture has since 2006 invested a total of 830,000 euros at the Centre of Agricultural Marchamalo and intention is that by the end of the year are performed in the same work for improvement and upgrading amounting to another half a million euros . The Regional Centre Apícola collaborates with researchers around the world doing great work in pathology bee. In this sense, regional owner of Agriculture has reminded us that here was discovered one of the causes of the syndrome depopulation of hives that is the Nosema apis, parasite that causes a syndrome caused by the significant reduction in production which is suffering throughout Europe and USA.
