BRAZIL- BEEKEEPERS OD THE NORTH OFRIO GRANDE DO SUL CREATES AN ASSOCIATION
To meet the demands for health monitoring and ensuring the quality of honey produced on the northern coast of Rio Grande do Sul, the newly formed associations of beekeepers of San Antonio de Patrol (Aasap) will be presenting at the National Fair Sugar Cana, Rapadura, and Rice (Fenacan) of 13 to 17 August, its first production of 700 kilograms of honey certificate. The product will have the seal of the Federal Inspection Service (IMS), of the Ministry of Agriculture.

USA- ARE TOXINS KILLING THE BEES?
There is increasing reason to believe that a pesticide Gaucho and other members of a family of highly toxic chemicals ? neonicotinoids ? may be responsible for the deaths of billions of honeybees worldwide. Some scientists believe that these pesticides, which are applied to seeds, travel systemically through the plant and leave residues that contaminate the pollen, resulting in bee death or paralysis.

UNITED KINGDOM- FILM TO EXPLORE BEE DECLINE AND COLONY COLLPASE DISORDER
A film investigating the decline in the global bee population will go ahead after its maker received support from some of the UK's best-known non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Director James Erskine is collaborating with two American filmmakers to produce In The Company Of Bees, a documentary exploring colony collapse disorder (CCD) and other environmental factors leading to the phenomenon.

BRAZIL- APICULTURE DINAMIZE THE ECONOMY IN THE INTERIOR OF ALAGOAS
Beekeeping in the interior of Alagoas would be just another productive activity outside but by the results presented. Among the main actions viable by the Local Arrangements Productivity Program (PAPL) are creating a cooperative of beekeepers (COOPEAPIS), creating the brand of honey in the area, the deployment of agents of rural development, technical training of participants and a pioneering project storage. The Coopeapis has signed during the month of July, a contract with the National Supply Company (Conab) to sell 10,252 tons of honey Beyond these actions, the agreement allowed the COOPMEL, cooperative based in Maceio, take account the demands of beekeepers in the region, with the relocation of its headquarters to the city of Pão de Açúcar.

BRAZIL- STARTS THE INSPECTION OF THE HONEY PRODUCED IN BAHÍA
The Defence Agency Agricultural Bahia (Adab) from this month will begin inspecting the houses of 22 and Geoprocessing gathering honey by the Superintendency of Family Agriculture (Suaf). According Adab, the goal is to preserve the safety and quality of honey produced in the state.
