The fields of sunflowers that are spread in the landscape are a novelty for residents of the settlement San Antonio, in the town of Bulls, 87 km away from Natal. ARGENTINA- SIGN AN AGREEMENT TO SUPPORT BEEKEEPING IN LA RIOJA PROVINCE
The provincial government, through the Secretariat of Strategic Planning, announced the adoption of the draft to Beekeeping Promotion, which will provide technical assistance to improve 60 small apiaries and training to 100 beekeepers small and medium-scale enterprises, within the framework Convention signed by the governor Beder Herrera with the Federal Investment Council (IFC).

SPAIN- BEEKEEPING GIVES 18 MILLON EUROS TO THE ANDALUCIA ECONOMY
The latest census of the Ministry Of Agriculture (2005) reflects the existence of approximately 150 farms in Cordoba and around 44,000 hives. In Andalusia there are a total of 500,000 registered hives in the 3,121 farms recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture. The regional production amounts to some 5,500 tonnes. The Board believes that beekeeping moved in 2006 some 18 million euros in the Autonomous Region. In Spain there are 2.46 million registered hives and 24,000 beekeepers.

SPAIN- OPEN THE DATES TO REQUEST APICULTURAL HELPS
The Ministry of Agriculture has already opened up the deadline for requesting aid to encourage the development of beekeeping Cordoba after publication of an order in which support measures are set for this year, 2009 and 2010. The agenda of the Board, eagerly awaited by industry, is intended to promote five key actions. On the one hand, is a premium on information and technical assistance to beekeepers, for which funds are reserved for training, recruitment of technicians or technical disclosure.

SPAIN- GOOD HONEY HARVEST IN CORDOBA
The honey summer campaign in 2007 was one of the best that occurred in recent years. Thus, production reached 675,000 kilograms, much of the last decade, surpassing the 250,000 kilos of 2006. COAG explained that this amount was not recorded since 1999, when it reached 673,000 kilograms.
