A Guelph beekeeper has been ordered by the Toronto Board of Health to stop giving out samples at his Canadian National Exhibition booth. The board says eating anything in the same area as animals is a public health risk. Tibor Szabo is allowed to sell the sealed jars of amber and gold honey that line his booth in the farm building, which hosts pigs, horses and other animals and smells like a barn. He just isn't allowed to open them to give out samples. And there's nothing stopping people from bringing food into the area and eating it there.

Studies conducted by researchers at the University of Washington and the Tropical Research Institute found that a kind of parasite is affecting the social behavior of bees night that inhabit the coast of Costa Rica and Panama. This is a fly larva that 'steals' food for bees immature developing in which one lives.
