BRAZIL- PLAN TO IMPROVE HONEY AND OTHER BEEHIVE PRODUCTOS QUALITY IN ALAGONHAS
The scientific study of beekeeping enhance the development of the activity in the rugged Alagoinha and the North Coast of Bahia. The installation of laboratory to study the bees (COL is governed by an agreement between the State University of Bahia (UNEB) and the company Bahia Pulp. The studies are intended to improve by 2010, the quality of honey production and derivatives, which now includes 900 families of beekeepers, who work in the land of the company. The laboratory will be installed in the Campus II of the UNEB in Alagoinha.

ARGENTINA- APICULTURAL MEETING IN SANTA FE PROVINCE

USA- 75 YEARS WORKING WITH BEES IN MICHIGAN
John Bacon , 85, has worked with bees for 75 years. He helped his dad with bees in 1933 and his family got their own hive in 1934. He's continued since, with a break during World War II. Bacon still collects bees when swarms form in the community. He uses his bees to pollinate two local orchards and sells the honey they produce.

BRAZIL- AGO TOXIC COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE BEES MORTALITY
The beekeeper Evandro Bagnara, Barra do Rio Azul, has lost 48 of the 60 hives he had. In two other properties nearby saw the deaths of 32 other hives. CHILE- LAUNCHED THE APICULTURAL TECHNOLOGICAL CONSORCIUM
The President of the Republic, Michelle Bachelet, alongside the Assistant Secretary of Agriculture, Reinaldo Ruiz, spearheaded the launch of the Apicultural Technological Consortium, in the Apicultural Cooperative Valdivia Limited APICOOP in Paillaco, Rivers Region. The consortium is a public-private organization that aims to strengthen competitiveness in the global marketplace of the value chain of honey and other agricultural products. The cost of the initiative reaches $ 1,126 million (U.S.$ 2.05 M) provided funding for five years, which corresponds to a 58.7% contribution to the Foundation for Agrarian Innovation (FIA), the Ministry of Agriculture.

ARGENTINA- SUPPORT BEEKEEPING IN LA RIOJA PROVINCE
The Provincial Government, through the Ministry of Livestock in conjunction with the Federal Investment Council (CFI), began the first training aimed at producing bee of the departments: Independence, Capital and Chamical.
