ARGENTINA- TRAINING TO APICULTURAL TECHNICIANS IN THE PROVINCE OF CHACO
Wednesday October 15 will take place the second day of training in Management Groups, which will be delivered by Lic. Andrea Sotelo. The same will be developed in the facilities of INTA presidency of Roque Sáenz Peña from 9 am. The training is organized by the Department of Apiculture and Farm Animal Production Directorate of the Secretariat for Agricultural Production and is directed to the coordinators and technicians are being trained to form a group of people able to reach consensus on a provincial apicultural plan. This training aims to address one more tool to strengthen the work of the coordinators of bees and beekeepers technicians who work with groups of producers.

NEW ZEALAND- BEE COMPOUND HALTS TUMOR GROWTH
A company?s bee-derived product which costs only a dollar a day has halted tumour growth in a group of cancer patients taking part in a trial by international researchers. Progress in the trial has been reported by the research team in a peer-reviewed paper just published in Wiley InterScience?s Phytotherapy Research. Manuka Health New Zealand chief executive Kerry Paul said today the company was delighted to hear the results after providing its Bio 30? Propolis product for the research. ?As in all research, we need to take care not to make a blanket propolis-cures-cancer claim,? he said. ?However, the paper shows the researchers believe Bio 30 holds major promise in the fight against this type of tumour.? Mr Paul said the research team was several months into a human trial testing Bio 30? Propolis on 70 neurofibromatosis, melanoma and pancreatic cancer sufferers. The daily cost for adult treatment was only a dollar.

BOLIVIA- HONEY FAIR IN SANTA CRUZ
Yesterday, the Urban Park was the venue for the third version of the Fair Departmental Honey, in which more than 40 exhibitors showed the best of honey and its derivatives, in which beekeepers in different regions of the department, as Portachuelo, La Guardia, Porongo, Claudia Dominguez, representing the directors of the Association of Beekeepers from Santa Cruz (Adapicruz), said that about 13 municipalities that are participating and other exhibitors are invited, non-Adapicruz.

AZERBAIJAN- BEEKEEPING FAIR
The Ministry of Agriculture will organize the next in turn sales exhibition of beekeeping in Baku. The exhibition will take place from 24 to 30 October, the ministry said. 8,000-10,000 tons of honey is produced on average in Azerbaijan per annum. Azerbaijani beekeepers succeeded to increase number of bee families from 100,000 up to 105,000 within last years. Productivity of each makes up over 10kg on average. The number of persons, engaged in beekeeping in the country, makes up about 10,000 people.
